One of the nice things about seeing shows in a city like Baton Rouge is that when huge bands come, they end up playing tiny venues. The XX opened their first US headlining tour here three weeks ago. There were no more than 200 people in a packed house. Now a three-piece — keyboardist Baria Qureishi has left the band for good — they played a great set, featuring their entire debut album and two covers. As a sample, we give you their version of Kyla’s dance song “Do You Mind?”

I’m still on the fence about this band. But I have to say, I almost like this live recording better than their record.
