The Cure – MTV Rocumentary
1989
Yesterday’s ‘That Was Then… This Is Now,’ Vintage Video post on the wonderful Slicing Up Eyeballs was inspiration for this post. I recorded this off of MTV around the time Disintegration was released. It’s a half hour (22 min. without commercials) documentary of Robert Smith, the band and Tim Pope talking about the history of The Cure during the filming of the video for the song Lullaby. There’s a lot of interesting commentary about Tim’s longstanding video making relationship with The Cure as well as stories about the recording of Disintegration.

First? Fond recollection. Thanks.
Wasn’t there a Wish-era rockumentary as well?
Not sure. I didn’t watch MTV nearly as obsessively during the Wish era, so I very well could have missed it.
this was from off of Mtv Canada, right? I have this on VHS too
Cool, I still have this on VHS as well. It was a nice time to grow up. Angst and all 😉
I got it off MTV in the states. Probably aired in Canada (and UK) as well.
Ive got the Wish one as well , will try and upload it soon.
@Scott: Yes, there is a Rocumentary from the Wish era too.
