I came across this interesting Joy Division cover by former 4ad recording artist(s) Red House Painters. I don’t know if I would call it a “tribute” since Mark Kozelek seems to forget the words, but I’ve seen performers forget the words to their own songs (I’m looking at you Stephin Merritt) so I guess it’s forgiveable.
Also, I don’t know if anyone else has signed up, but I’m trying out MOG (you can check out my page with virtually nothing on it here ). It’s an interesting concept but I’m not quite sure how the indexing thing works. Right now I have about 17,000 songs on my hard drive and it’s been working for a hour and a half and is all the way up to song number 127. So I’m thinking in about 1-2 weeks my playlist will be populated. The funny thing is that I’m pretty meticulous with my mp3 tag naming (both ID3v1 & 2 for everything) but I noticed that it seems to be skipping a lot of band that it doesn’t recognize. Strange. I give it a go and see if I’m ready for this whole “Web 2.0” thing.

Doesn’t sound like Kozelek to me. The music is similar but it’s someone else singing. Regardless, not a bad ‘LWTUA’ cover to add to the collection. Thanks.
Not Kozelek? What are you talking about? That is most definitely Kozelek! Nice version but it’s a shame that he fucks it up like that…
indeed. Nice versions but the blabla sucks. Is this cool?
