As far as my favorite bands of all time, Slant 6 is definitely in my top five. While most people learn “Stairway To Heaven,” “My Girl,” or a Misfits song when they start playing guitar, the first song I learned was “Poison Arrows Shot At Heros.” I once made the thirteen hour round trip drive from Minneapolis to Chicago in one day just to see them play live. I really, really like them. But enough about my obsession. This is a cover of Dead Moon’s “My Escape” that Slant 6 played the first time I saw them in the summer of 1992 when they were on tour with Nation Of Ulysses.
Also, if anyone has any live video footage of them, please e-mail me. I would love to get a copy.

I was lucky enough to have grown up outside of DC. I got to see this band probably over ten times. They always looked so cold. I remember Christine chain smoking and all the boys gay and straight had a crush on Myra Powers.
